SIIT S.c.p.a. is a non-profit consortium holding, whose shareholders are 15 large companies, one hundred small and medium enterprises, research bodies, public and financial institutions with headquarters in the Liguria region. It is active at the regional level as well as nationally and internationally.

It represents an integrated system among large, small and medium enterprises, the University of Genoa, CNR, public and financial institutions, aimed at the development of joint activities of industrial research and technology transfer to favour the global competitiveness in compliance with the “Smart Specialisation Strategy”.

It operates in six thematic platforms: Complex organizations, Infomobility, Safety, Automation and Robotics, Health, and Energy. It also works on enabling technologies and services.

It uses laboratories shared by Enterprises/Research Bodies, in particular for: Technologies and Hardware and Software processes, Grid Computing, Energy, Automation and Robotics, Intelligent Transport Systems and logistics, Health and Safety.

In addition, it manages TRANSIT, the regional Research and innovation centre for Automation, supervision and safety in transportation.
