The objective is the development of new production strategies and management of complex industrial networks and supply chains enhancing the competitiveness of Italian manufacturing enterprises. Such strategies shall be consistent with the evolution of markets and the enabling technologies, using modern ICT solutions to innovate the collaborative, dynamic and adaptive dimension. Priority research topics in this area are: management of complex industrial networks and related dynamic “supply chains”, thanks to ICT solutions in forecasting, planning, monitoring and measurement areas; methods and techniques for the strategic assessment of product-process according to a Life Cycle Engineering vision, also thanks to the increased availability of data and information based on the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm; modelling and simulation at the single enterprise or network level, that can take advantage of the collaborative and dynamic dimension; ICT solutions to enable the continuing adaptation of resources and systems (machines and people) to the dynamic production context.
