GTTS5

GTTS5: Innovative manufacturing processes

The objective is the creation of new systems that can generate innovative production processes for manufacturing products, micro- and nano-components and mechatronic products, also taking advantage of complex high added-value materials. In general, priority research themes in this area are: the Additive Manufacturing application, laser technologies and processes, production technologies and processes at micro- and nano-level and hybrid processes that integrate various conventional and non-conventional technologies. Another goal is the possibility of improving the performances of production processes through a strong integration-interaction with measuring systems; that synergy becomes fundamental especially in the manufacturing of micro- and nano-components, where the machining monitoring is necessary to modify the parameters of the production system in real time, ensuring high-efficiency processes.
